Cell Phones for Soldiers
T o a military family, a phone call home is priceless -- and extraordinarily expensive. So back in 2004, Robbie and Brittany Bergquist from Norwell, Massachusetts decided to do something to help.  With $21 of their own money, they started "Cell Phones for Soldiers" providing prepaid phone cards to soldiers serving overseas.

By setting up collection sites for used cell phones and partnering with ReCellular, they have raised almost $2 million to date and distributed more than 500,000 prepaid calling cards.

Cell Phones for Soldiers addresses an everyday emotional need that everyone has experienced: the imperative to phone home, to hear a familiar voice while far away.

Michaels Funeral Home is proud to join the cause by serving as a collection site for used cell phones and contributing an additional $5.00 for every phone donated.
