Connie Krol, (nee Kowalewski), 68, a resident of Schaumburg since 1973 and formerly of the Northwest Side of Chicago was born on March 25, 1948 in Chicago to the late Henry and Helen (nee Skolmowski), and passed away suddenly on September 22, 2016 at her home in Schaumburg.

Connie was a 1965 graduate of the Infant Nursing Program at St. Vincent’s Orphanage in Chicago, later working and teaching classes at the orphanage. Connie loved the outdoors, regularly taking her sons and their friends to the Michigan Sand Dunes over the years, reading, animals and nature, especially being out on the water and boating on Lauderdale Lakes for over 25 years. Babysitting for her 2 grand-nieces and grand-nephew gave her great joy.

Connie was proud to have worked at St. Hubert School starting as a lunch mother and later as a kindergarten/pre-school teacher’s aide. Connie was instrumental in developing the Extended Day Care Program for the school, becoming director for the program. One of her proudest moments was receiving her own classroom assignment in the new addition of the school building, made possible through the efforts of her dear friend former Principal Mary Ellyn Billmeyer.

Connie was the adoring wife of 46 years to Chuck; loving mother of Chuck, the late Cliff and the late Christopher; dear sister of the late Garry (Simi) Kowalewski and the late Henry Kowalewski; loving sister in law of Jack and Richard (Florence); fond aunt of Melissa (Aiden) Butler, Nicole (Matt) See, Garry (the late Kim) Kowalewski, Ricky, Cindy, Debbie, the late Mary, Jackie, Jenny (Michael) Myers and Danny; doting great aunt of Riley, Maddy, Jackson, Billy, Annie and Sullivan; dear friend to many, she will be missed by all those whose lives she touched, including her “best friend” “Cooper”.
