Guy C. Landgraf Sr., 79, a resident of Schaumburg for 51 years and formerly of Melrose Park, Illinois, was born on February 23, 1941 in Chicago to Charles and Katherine (nee Mueller) and passed away peacefully on May 10, 2020 at his home in Schaumburg surrounded by his loving family.
As a proud U.S. Army Veteran, Guy served in the 1st Calvary during the Vietnam War. His home, yard and even car, were adorned with patriotic pictures and ornaments.
Guy lived for his family and wanted nothing but the best for them. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. Guy cherished every moment he was able to spend with them, especially parties and gatherings, where he could proudly boast about all their accomplishments.
Anyone who knew Guy immediately recognized a true genuineness and love of life. He sincerely cared for people and had an innate ability to listen to and put people at ease. Guy always lived life in the moment which was evident in his joy of music, festivals and family camping trips.
Guy was the dedicated husband of 56 years to Eileen (nee Banakis); loving father of Jennifer (Michael) Lupo, Laura (Eric) Jelen, Guy Jr. (Melanie) and David (Deirdre); adoring grandfather of Michael and Julia Lupo, Samantha, Sydney and Sarina Jelen, Logan and Oliver Landgraf, and Maeve Landgraf; brother of Gayle Davidson; fond cousin and friend to many. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Guy’s name to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
