Mrs. Janina Gambal, age 92, peacefully passed away Friday morning, May 3, 2019, at her home in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. She was born on May 12, 1927 in Losie, Poland. She spent her life in Losie growing up and later raising her three children in Karpacz, Poland. She immigrated to the United States in 1981 where she remained until her passing.

Janina was the wife of the late Jan Gambal. Devoted mother to Ann Byskosh (Steve Byskosh), Danuta Gambal, and the late Jerzy Gambal (Jolanta Gambal). She was a proud and very dedicated grandmother to Joanna Shostachuk, Peter Byskosh, Paul Gambal, and Anna Gambal. She was also a wonderful great-grandmother to Sofia Shostachuk, Andrew Shostachuk, Aiden Gambal, Ellie Gambal, Skyler McRae, and Lily McRae.

Janina was a loving, genuine, and hard-working woman, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was known for her kind nature, love of family, dedication to God, support of her Ukrainian and American roots, passion for Wheel of Fortune, and her amazing cooking. She always welcomed visitors and had plenty of tasty food to share.
Janina, her wisdom, patience, and unconditional love, will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

“For everything, there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven; a time to be born, and a time to die, a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is wanted.” It was Janina’s time. Knowing her, she would want us to remember that people are plucked from this earth, new seeds are planted, and new flowers are forever blossoming.”
