KerrieAnn Mayes-Skuran, a resident of Schaumburg for 26 years and formerly of Bensenville was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas on on September 15, 1960 and passed away peacefully October 13, 2020 in Elk Grove Village with her loving husband, Craig Skuran and only sister, Kellie Adele, holding her hands.
She was an avid reader; and had accomplished reading every book that Stephen King had ever written among many others. She had a green thumb even as a child and prided herself by growing beautiful houseplants, flowers and herbs. KerrieAnn and her sister would talk on the phone every day and would travel to see each other every few months. In Arkansas, she would visit Kellie and spouse, David Eddington.
KerrieAnn retired last year after working for 16 years at Stewart Title & Salvage.
She would be embarrassed if you arrived at her house unannounced as she would want to prepare – but you would be amazed that she didn’t already know you were coming. Her house was always immaculate and adorned with beautiful little things she has collected over her years…all perfectly in place. She loved to cook and was the perfect hostess – producing a bounty of food at a moment’s notice!
She was the loving wife of Craig for 26 years. KerrieAnn very much missed and grieved the loss of her only child, her son, Sumner Lloyd Cowan, who passed 11 years ago. He was a handsome and loving son who served in the military. Although she and her sister do not have many remaining relatives, KerrieAnn treasured her relationships with her Aunts Marilyn and Shirley. KerrieAnn leaves behind close and dear long-time friends. She will be leaving behind her little dachshund, “Gooseberry”. He was always by her side or sleeping at her feet and always in her heart.
KerrieAnn was a champion of many organizations that helped the lives of veterans and the underprivileged as well as the lives of animals.
Her steadfast love and friendship will be missed by many.
