Robert “Bob” L. Luing, 98, a resident of Streamwood for over 30 years and formerly of Schiller Park and Hanover Park, was born on June 11, 1920 in Chicago to the late Leslie and the late Kathryn (nee Ryan) and passed away peacefully on November 24, 2018 in Streamwood. Bob was a proud US Army WWII Veteran, serving in the 41st Infantry Division and stationed in Australia and New Guinea. He was an avid card player and enjoyed playing pinochle, contract rummy and “Oops”. He was very religious and extremely generous with donations to charity. He was a member of the Hanover and Schaumburg Townships and Hanover Park District senior groups. He was a daily visitor to his local convenience store in Hanover Park through several different owners since the 1970’s — so regular, in fact, that new owners were always told that with each sale, “Bob comes with the store.”

Bob was the adoring husband of 65 years to the late Theresa (nee DeVitto); loving father of the late Robert (Terri) and Shirley (Charles) Orozco; fond grandfather of William (Alisa) Orozco, Tony (Luing) Parisi, Matthew (Alison) Orozco, Timothy (Sharon) Orozco, Ashly (Graham) Johnson, Leslie (Mindy) Moskowitz and Lucas Orozco; proud great grandfather of 9; beloved brother of the late Armond; dear uncle of James and Dennis Luing and friend to many including Kay Kaminski and Joe Annunzio. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.
