He was the adoring husband of 39 years of Mary (nee Hagedorn); loving father of Matthew (Ashley) and Laura; proud grandfather of Johnathan, Ryan and Payton; beloved brother of George (Peggy), Patti (Dick) Deitos and Marian (Bill) Dowd; dear friend to many. Shane S. Bennett, a resident of Schaumburg was born on August 12, 1973 in Elmhurst to the late Robert and Karen (nee Willes) and passed away peacefully in his home with his family at his side after battling Huntington’s Disease for many years on January 6, 2021 in Schaumburg.

Shane spent his working days in IT. In his healthy years he enjoyed working on cars, building computers and gaming. He had family and friends who loved him dearly. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

The family has requested that flowers be omitted. Memorials would be greatly appreciated to the Huntington’s Disease Society – Illinois  – click Donate.

Kenneth “Ken” S. Majkowicz, 62, a resident of Itasca for 28 years was born on August 10, 1958 in Chicago to the late Steve and the late Therese (nee Grott), and passed away on December 1, 2020. Ken enjoyed watching NASCAR, fishing, golfing, bowling and gardening.

Ken was the loving husband of 37 years to Valerie (nee Irgang); adoring father of Stephanie and Nicole; beloved brother of Cindy and Lorrie (the late Rufus) Janes; dear friend to many. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Dolores Florence (Marski) Jeschke was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 7, 1924 to Dominica and Francis Marski. She was the youngest of 10 children. Francis Marski was hit by a car while exiting a streetcar on his way to his butcher shop when Dolores was 2 years old. Her mother raised all ten children on her own, each one becoming a productive citizen of society.

In 1942, Dolores graduated from Holy Family Academy and her first job was as a telephone operator. In her final employment, for over twenty years, Dolores was the secretary of Saint Pius X Catholic School in Lombard, Illinois. On June 7, 1944, Dolores married her high school sweetheart, Robert Jeschke, while he was home on leave and on his way to fight in the Battle of the Bulge in Normandy, France.

Formerly residents of Villa Park, Illinois, Bob and Dolores moved to Schaumburg, Illinois in 1987. Bob Jeschke passed away in September of 2007 and Dolores moved to Friendship Village in Schaumburg, Illinois. She was a long standing parishioner of Saint Matthew Catholic Church in Schaumburg, Illinois.

Bob and Dolores produced two sons, Ken and Jon. Ken Jeschke is a resident of Fountain Hills, Arizona. Ken and Karen (now deceased) have three children, Scott Jeschke of Basalt, Colorado, Amy (Sean) Dunn of Chandler, Arizona, and Rob (Amy) Jeschke of Indianapolis, Indiana. Jonathan and Connie Jeschke of Bettendorf, Iowa, have three children, Joanna (Justin) Gilmore of Clive, Iowa, Alexander (Jennifer) Jeschke of Naperville, Illinois and Lynn (Joshua) Gerbig of Cedar Falls, Iowa. Dolores Jeschke has seven lovely great grandchildren. Reese and Samantha Jeschke, James and Julia Gilmore, June and Calvin Jeschke and Cecelia Gerbig.

Dolores is preceded in death by husband, Robert and all of her siblings and parents. Interment will be at Saint Adalbert Cemetery, Niles, Illinois. During this unfortunate time of the pandemic, a family celebration of life will be held at a later date. George Hiller, 86, and Mary Ann Hiller (nee Garstka), 79, residents of Wheaton for 12 years and formerly of Glen Ellyn for 30 years.

George was born August 25, 1934 in Chicago to George Gerhart and Florence (nee Zappen) and Mary Ann was born December 12, 1940 in Chicago to Jerome and Lucille (nee Nowak). George and Mary Ann each passed away peacefully in their home in Wheaton on November 14 and November 13, 2020. George was an avid fisherman and Mary Ann loved publishing on social media, particularly Facebook. They were married for almost 60 years.

Loving parents of George (Anne), Pamela (the late Joseph) Demaine, David (the late Jody), Jeff (Linda), Robert (Colleen) and Tim (Jeneen); fond grandparents of George, Geanna, the late Christopher, Nicole Gomez, Joseph Demaine, Andrew, Sarah, James, Kristina, Michael, Shannon, Kiley and Jack; beloved siblings of Paulette (Edward) Charhut , Jerome (Mary) Garstka and Florence; aunt and uncle and dear friends to many. Ferne I. Earnest (nee Gohlmann), 97, a resident of Elk Grove Village, Roselle, and Schaumburg since 1957, was born and raised in Chicago. She was born on October 22, 1923 to John Raymond and Ida (nee Biggio) and stepdaughter of Joseph Weber, and passed away on November 4, 2020 in Chicago.

She was a 1940 graduate of Carl Schurz High School, Chicago. She was married on May 26, 1946 to Henry F. Earnest (1921-1995), and to Earl Zimmerman (living) in 1979. She served as an officer of the Elk Grove VFW #9284 Auxiliary until she was 95. Over the years, she made many friendships through bowling (Sim’s bowl), golfing, playing cards and the VFW. She loved driving. Her 95th birthday party was attended by nearly 50 people; more than half of whom were her friends.

Ferne was the loving mother of Cathy Ione (David M. Rue) Earnest; dear first cousin of the late Evelyn Iverson Reinholtzen, the late Charlotte Iverson Dahlquist Kline, the late Jane Robinson Kniprath, and Carolyn Forsberg Coleman; and dear friend to many. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.
