Raymond “Ray” J. Kennedy, 94, a resident of Schaumburg for 5 years and formerly of River Grove for 44 years, was born on December 25, 1924 in Chicago to the late Patrick and the late Stella (nee Bernoudy), and passed away peacefully on April 15, 2019 in Schaumburg. Ray was a proud US Navy Veteran and Carpenter of Union #181. He loved golf, fishing and music.

Ray was the adoring husband of 73 years of Vera (nee Joseph); loving father of Susan Mestjian and Nancy Puchner; proud grandfather of Elizabeth Sheehan-Webster, Deirdre Sheehan-Franklin, Abby and Michael Puchner; beloved great-grandfather of Liam, Beatrice, Harrison and Eloise Franklin and Alexander Webster; dear friend to many. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Dana La Monte, 92, was a resident of Elk Grove Village. She was lovingly known as “Big G”, her lifelong interests include cooking, playing bingo and cards, and being surrounded by loved ones.

Dana was the loving wife of the late Ciro; beloved mother of Susan (Bruce) Meyer and Barbara; proud grandmother of Michael (Jennifer), Matthew (Julia) and Steven; cherished great-grandmother of Cohen, Samantha, Jonas and Maxine; dear friend to many. Dana is preceded in death by her parents and sisters. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Jeffrey J. Gierek, 52, a resident of Schaumburg for 24 years and formerly of Chicago was born on March 31, 1967 in Chicago to Jim, Sr. and Florence (nee Soreng), and passed away suddenly on April 8, 2019 at his home in Schaumburg. Jeffrey was a proud employee of the Illinois Tollway Authority and enjoyed playing softball and hockey.

Jeffrey was the loving brother of James, Jr. (Julie), Joel (Barbara) and Jamie (Edward) Stelmachowski; fond uncle of John, Kevin, his godson Michael and Lindsey; dear nephew, cousin and friend to many. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

James was a World War II United States Navy Veteran and proudly served on USS Edgar G. Chase DE-16. James enjoyed spending time with his family, cars, going to garage sales and IHOP.

James was the adoring husband of 71 years of Ursula (nee Wolter); loving father of James (Janine) and Robert (Barbara); proud grandfather of Chad and Benjamin; dear friend to many. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.
