Lucile Barnett (nee Gamberini), 89, a resident of Manor Care, Elk Grove for 2 years and formerly of Mt. Prospect was born on January 24, 1929 in Rosedale, MS to the late Silvio and the late Levia (nee Oltremari), and passed away peacefully on December 1, 2018 in Elk Grove Village.

Lucile was the adoring wife of 13 years to the late Carl; loving mother of Laura (David) Sakata, Michael Barnett and Phyllis (Sam) Rizzo; fond grandmother of Kevin and Stephen Sakata, Theresa Barnett, Anthony (Jannette) Rizzo, Christina (Scott) Alonzo, Rebecca (Myron) Stevenson and Patrick (Emily) Rizzo; proud great grandmother of Jordyn and Amanda Sakata, Dominic and Scarlett Alonzo, Kodi, Kolton and Kye, and Judah Rizzo and 2 more “on the way”; beloved sister of John (the late Frances) Gamberini, Mildred (John) Nutini and Dorothy (David) Pienta; dear aunt and friend to many. Kenneth E. Bartold, 71, a lifelong Resident of Chicago was born on August 14, 1947 in Chicago to the late Thaddeus and Eleanor (nee Szpakowski) and passed away peacefully on December 5, 2018 in Glenview. He was proud to have taught English and Science for 48 years at St. Hedwig and St. Mary Star of the Sea Schools in Chicago.

Kenneth was the adoring husband of 50 years to Barbara (nee Sienkiewicz); loving father of Margaret, Milissa and Natalie; dear brother-in-law of Jerome Sienkiewicz and dear friend to many. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Francisca “Paca” Otero, 80, of Schaumburg, IL, went to be with her Lord, Christ Jesus, surrounded by her family on December 2, 2018, at Alexian Brothers Hospital, Elk Grove Village, IL. Born on June 19, 1938, in Barranquitas, PR, she is predeceased by her parents, Sabino and Esmeralda Ortiz of Barranquitas, PR, ten siblings, her son, Eriberto Pérez of Pontiac, MI and grandson, Andre Pérez of Pontiac, MI.

Paca was a homemaker living in Schaumburg with her husband, Pablo. “Petunia” as her grandchildren used to call her, was a devoted Christian who was deeply committed to the Word of God, a fun-loving wife and mother of gentle spirit. She loved to sing and used to be the “designated singer” especially during the holiday season. She was shy and was known for her ease in frequent conversations. She maintained a sweet and simple demeanor throughout her life. Her joy, contagious smile and joking around will never be forgotten.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Pablo Otero, three sisters, Hilda Ortiz, Cándida Ortiz, Aida Ortiz, four children, Ulyssius (Rocío Belén) Otero of Wheeling, IL, Magdalina (Edwin) Rivera of Schaumburg, IL, Wilma (Andrew) Drendel of Chicago, IL and Omayra (Manolín) Santos of Orland Park, IL. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She lived by Habakuk 3: 17-19 “…..yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.”

Richard H. Ott, 86, a resident of Schaumburg for 27 years and formerly of Belmont Cragin in Chicago was born on May 9, 1932 in Chicago and passed away peacefully on December 1, 2018 in Elk Grove surrounded by his loving family. Richard was a proud US Navy Veteran serving as a Jet Mechanic during the Korean War. He was later a ground crew mechanic for 28 years for American Airlines. He loved to travel, particularly to warmer climates. He was a member of Schaumburg American Legion #1983 and VFW Streamwood #5151.

Richard was the adoring husband of 63 years to Rose Mary (nee Oriatti); loving father of Daniel (Denise), Christine (Geoffery Engel, MD), Mary Elizabeth (Thomas) Lorig, Lawrence (Victoria) and the late Richard; dear grandfather of 10; proud great grandfather of 12; dear friend to many. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched including his puppy “Misty”.

Dolores M. Dooley (nee Jayko), 92, a resident of Schaumburg for 19 years and formerly of Hoffman Estates since 1967, was born on December 21, 1925 in Chicago to the late Anthony and the late Clara (nee Milkowski), and passed away peacefully on November 17, 2018 in Arlington Heights.

She achieved a Registered Nurse’s degree and license. A nurse for 45 years, Head Nurse for 17. Creator of the Day Surgery Program for Alexian Brothers Hospital, she helped 3 other Chicago area hospitals create their programs, the most successful hospital programs of the modern era. The protocols she wrote are still used today by the hospitals.

She wrote, staged, directed and made all the costumes for her Church’s Christmas pageant for 25 years.

Dolores was all about family — she loved celebrations and staged many a party or get together, organizing the Family’s Picnics & Cousin’s Caroling Party every year for 25 years for an extended family of 150. And she always was available to help the neighbors, and the neighborhood’s kids, and the entire extended family.

Dolores was the adoring wife of 50 years to the late Harry; loving mother of Patrick, Michael, Miriam (Courtney) Ladd, Colette (Dennis) Robertson, John (Julie), Harry (Katherine) and the late Joan Mary (Paul) Carter; fond grandmother of 13; proud great grandmother of soon to be 15; loving sister of Marie (Norb) Kwiatek and Connie (Ralph) Bostler; beloved aunt, cousin, and dear friend to many. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Robert “Bob” L. Luing, 98, a resident of Streamwood for over 30 years and formerly of Schiller Park and Hanover Park, was born on June 11, 1920 in Chicago to the late Leslie and the late Kathryn (nee Ryan) and passed away peacefully on November 24, 2018 in Streamwood. Bob was a proud US Army WWII Veteran, serving in the 41st Infantry Division and stationed in Australia and New Guinea. He was an avid card player and enjoyed playing pinochle, contract rummy and “Oops”. He was very religious and extremely generous with donations to charity. He was a member of the Hanover and Schaumburg Townships and Hanover Park District senior groups. He was a daily visitor to his local convenience store in Hanover Park through several different owners since the 1970’s — so regular, in fact, that new owners were always told that with each sale, “Bob comes with the store.”

Bob was the adoring husband of 65 years to the late Theresa (nee DeVitto); loving father of the late Robert (Terri) and Shirley (Charles) Orozco; fond grandfather of William (Alisa) Orozco, Tony (Luing) Parisi, Matthew (Alison) Orozco, Timothy (Sharon) Orozco, Ashly (Graham) Johnson, Leslie (Mindy) Moskowitz and Lucas Orozco; proud great grandfather of 9; beloved brother of the late Armond; dear uncle of James and Dennis Luing and friend to many including Kay Kaminski and Joe Annunzio.
