Mildred “Sissy” (Fornear) Cook passed away on December 30, 2019 at her home in Schaumburg, IL. She died of the heart problems that had persisted in the latter years of her life. She was surrounded by loving family and friends in her final moments.

Mildred’s parents, Donald and Mildred Fornear, were happy and proud to bring “Sissy” into the world. Mildred was raised in Pittsburgh’s Brookline area, in the South Hills section of Pittsburgh, PA., where she attended Resurrection Grade School and South Hills High School. After WWII, she married her soldier boy David Cook and together they embarked on a full life of love and home. David’s employment demands brought several moves about the country, where they were blessed with six children: David & Sheryl in Pittsburgh, Sharon in St. Louis, Paul in Detroit, and finally, Sheila and Melissa in Elk Grove Village, Il. Unfortunately, Milli lost daughter Sheryl on October 1, 2016.

Moving to Elk Grove Village, Il. In December of 1958, Milli and Dave quickly became active in the very early formative years of Elk Grove Village. The PTA, the Women’s Club, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, and Dave’s thirty years on the Elk Grove Village Zoning Board of Appeals were among their affiliations.

Milli was a retiree of the Marshall Field’s Woodfield Mall retail store where she worked from the store’s opening for twenty three years. As a full time mom, she worked at other jobs as time allowed. David worked most of his years at Central Can Company of Chicago until their retirement in 1992 when they moved to Fairfield Bay, Arkansas. While in Arkansas they enjoyed a much more leisurely life style of golf, a beautiful lake, wonderful new friends, and a warmer climate. Following her beloved husband David’s death in 2000, Milli moved back to Chicagoland to be closer to her family

Milli was blessed with six siblings and is survived by brother Brian (Sue) and sister Janet (Andy) Kirk. She was preceded in passing by brothers Donald (Rosemary), Robert (Elizabeth), Paul (Mary), Richard (Ruth Jean). Milli was the cherished aunt to twenty three nephews and nieces.

William A. Miotke, 85, a resident of Roselle for 62 years and formerly of Chicago was born on November 19, 1934 in Chicago to the late Anthony and the late Anne (nee Ptack) and passed away suddenly on December 16, 2019 at home. William was a US Air Force Veteran who served in France during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time at the local Library. He also enjoyed camping with his family, especially in Oregon, IL and Beach Park, IL. He was proud to have worked as a Aircraft mechanic at American Airlines for 42 years. He was a longtime parishioner at St. Walter Catholic Church.

William was the adoring husband of 66 years to Beverly; loving father of William, Mary Norgaard and Janet Esarove; fond grandfather of Donald Leeper, Gregg Esarove, Tiffany Esarove, Bobby Quinn, Heather (Rayan) Venkatesh and the late Robert Norgaard; proud great grandfather of Audrey and Naomi Venkatesh; dear brother of the late Anthony (the late Kathy); beloved uncle and dear friend to many. Barb earned a B.A. Degree in Elementary Education from U.W. River Falls, was an active member and officer of the Metro Chicago Women of the E.L.C.A., American Association of University Women, Church Women United, and Girl Scouts. She loved life, flowers, antiques, being involved in causes that will make a better world, and traveling.

Barb was the adoring wife of 47 years to Ken; loving mother of Jennifer (Brandon) Scholl and Stephanie; fond grandmother of Blake, Bennett, Brooklyn, Briella, and Brianna; dear twin sister of the late Marilyn; beloved sister-in-law of Anita (Robert) Damon and Calvin (Ione) Olson; loving aunt, cousin, and dear friend to many. Rich was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. He was an avid White Sox and Blackhawks fan and loved to research absolutely everything.
