Peggy A. Markko, 86 (nee Demas), a resident of East Dundee since 1995 and formerly of Hoffman Estates for 19 years
was born on February 9, 1930 in San Antonio, TX to the late Sam and the late Fanny (nee Garcia), and passed away peacefully on June 21, 2016 at her home with her loving family by her side.

She loved watching her favorite television shows “Magnum P.I.” and “Renegade” and also enjoyed having her “Manhattans”, her favorite cocktail.

Peggy was the adoring wife of 49 years to the late George; loving sister to many. She was a wonderful aunt who loved and doted over all her nieces and nephews. She was the most selfless, strong and generous person and was always someone to rely and count on. She loved her dogs, “Moxie”, “Mopps”, and“Lady” and sometimes loved her cats “Maggie” and Catrina.

Gail R. Maish (nee Warren), 70, a resident of Clare Oaks, Bartlett and formerly of Schaumburg for 44 years, was born on February 2, 1946 to Robert and Lois (nee Gugelman), and passed away peacefully on June 12, 2016 in Hoffman Estates.

A 1968 graduate of Purdue University, Gail later earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Maryland. She taught mathematics at Jane Addams Junior High School in Schaumburg from 1978 until her retirement in 2006. She was a very active member of Roselle United Methodist Church and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her life.

Gail was the adoring wife of 48 years to Matt; loving mother of Vicki (and Keri), David (Susi), Tom (Jaime), Michael (Emily); fond grandmother of Josh (Tiffany), Alexis, Chris, Madison, Joseph, Ema, Keira, Elly and Kacey; proud great-grandmother of Talon and Kendyll; dear sister of David Warren; loving aunt and friend to many, she will be missed by all those whose lives she touched, especially her “best friend” Taffy.

Thomas “Tom” Wolinski, a resident of Schaumburg for over 20 years and formerly of Chicago was born on December 29, 1930 in Chicago to the late Joseph and the late Rose (nee Tamulewicz), and passed away peacefully on June 3, 2016 at his home in Schaumburg.

Tom was a proud US Army Veteran serving in the 7th Infantry during the Korean Conflict and earning 2 bronze stars. He loved fishing and golfing, enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was a lifelong “die-hard” CUBS fan and long-time member of the Northwest Spades.

Tom was the adoring husband of 56 years to Helen (nee Pabisiak); loving father of David (Kelly), Karen (Edward) Migut, Kenneth (Debbie) and Jeffery (Kathleen); fond grandfather of Daniel, Kara, Michael, Katie, Kyle and Kelly; dear brother of Joan Dunn, the late Frank and the late Gloria; brother-in-law of the late Jim Pabsiak, uncle and friend to many, he will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Paraschiva “Lucy” Auroaica (nee Toma) died peacefully in Chicago, IL at The University of Chicago Medical Center at the age of 77.

Lucy is survived by her daughter, Gabriela Elshareif, son in law, Joe Elshareif, and granddaughters, Nancy, Nadia, and Aziza. Lucy is preceded in death by her husband, Ioan Auroaica, and her siblings: Ana, Eleonora, Gheorghe, Ecaterina, Profira, and Constantin.

Lucy was accomplished in every facet of life. She was a loving and caring individual who valued family and keeping traditions alive. Lucy was a strong advocate for true love, and always had her granddaughters best interest.
