He enjoyed sports and coached softball and loved music and played drums in a band.

Christine Doane (nee Markowski),61, a resident of Schaumburg since 2003 and formerly of Chicago was born on December 4, 1957 in Mierkienniki, Poland to Antoni and Kamila (nee Jablonski), and passed away with the peaceful calling home from God on August 17, 2019 in Elk Grove Village with her loving family by her side.

An avid gardener, Christine loved bringing light into the world with her flowers and plants. During her years as a loving mother and matriarch, Christine found great joy in nourishing her family with original recipes and creating familial traditions. Some of her greatest times were making holiday meals, which created memories for those she embraced that will be always cherished. She was a proud office management professional, who her coworkers at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge and formally Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, all found her with great skills of leadership, organization and compassion for the sick. She additionally had provided her heart to those in crisis during her time at NWCASA, a non for profit organization for women, that she was also formally employed. Christine loved to walk in nature and see the world that God had provided during her earthly time. Christine provided unconditional love and support through every path of her children’s lives and her last great achievement was enjoying time as a grandmother.

Unconditionally loving mother of Jennifer and Karen; doting grandmother of Deklyn; loyal sister of Maria Gluzerman, John Markowski and Virginia Markowski; beloved aunt of Robert, Carla and Michael; uncomparable friend to many. The ripple of her love and light will continue for many years in this earthly world.

Daniel worked as a railroad foreman since 1976 and was known to his family as “Mr. Fix It”.

Daniel was the adoring husband of 43 years to Marilyn (nee Duel); loving father of Jillian and Daniel; fond brother of the late Ann and the late Thomas; dear friend to many. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Erich H. Christ, 90, of Morton Grove, Illinois, with heartfelt hearts we sadly share that our “Papa” passed peacefully on Friday, August 9, 2019 in Barrington with his loving wife and sons by his side.

Born January 17, 1929 in Hermersdorf, Czechoslovakia to Franz and Anna (nee Haupt). Arrived to the United States in 1957 from Sielmingen, Germany where he learned his trade as a butcher with his speciality making sausages for many delicatessens over the years. He was a long standing member of the Schwaben Verein and known as the “grill meister” at the festival always with a smile and a beer in his hand.

Erich was a hard working man who truly enjoyed working with his hands. No task too challenging or difficult, his hands hardly ever idle. Even building their “get away” second home on a lake in Neshkoro, Wisconsin in 1976. His favorite enjoyment was being outdoors especially in the sun, vegetable gardening, swimming, reading, playing cards, traveling, camping, and spending time with family and friends.

Erich is survived by his beloved wife, Martha (nee Schweizer) of 66 memorable years; loving father of his sons, Gert (Janny) and Peter (Diane); his grandchildren, Erin (Michael) Brown, Erich and Karl; dear brother of Waltraud (Rolf) Schwab; beloved uncle and dear friend to many. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family to support the laying of a memorial “Brick” in Erich’s name placed in the walkways of the gardens of the Pepper Family Journey Care Hospice Center in Barrington where “Papa” took his last breath before God called him home to Heaven.

Kate earned a Ph.D in Psychology and was proud to have authored many relationship books including “Relationships for Dummies” and “Love Secrets” and was also was a bird lover.

Kate was the beloved sister of the late Charles Jr. (Candace) Wachs and Judy (Bob) Stein; loving aunt of April (Steve) Habisohn, Father Paul Stein, Mark (Laurel) Stein and Adam Gertz; proud great-aunt of 8 and dear friend to many. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Paul William Dainius, 61, a resident of Schaumburg since 1968 and formerly of Hickory Hills was born on November 30, 1957 in Chicago to the late Balys and Josephine (nee Purlis) and passed away peacefully on July 29, 2019 in Des Plaines. Paul was an avid reader; he visited the Schaumburg library on a weekly basis and was usually able to read a book each day. He especially enjoyed reading books written by his favorite author James Patterson. He was an automobile enthusiast and he enjoyed working on cars and attending muscle car shows. He will be missed by his beloved cat “Chance”.

Paul was the fond cousin of Alex (Pat) Kapocius and dear friend to many. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Richard A. Mayer, 80, a resident of Schaumburg since 1968 and formerly of Chicago was born on December 12, 1938 in Chicago to John A. and Lucille (nee Finucane) and passed away peacefully on July 19, 2019 in Elk Grove surrounded by his loving family. Family and friends will gather privately for a Celebration of Life Service.

Richard was a proud member of IBEW Local #134 for 65 years and was owner of RAM Electric in Schaumburg for 20 years. He enjoyed deer hunting in Colorado, fishing for Muskies in Oxbo, Wisconsin and in his retirement travelling to his daughter Kelly’s Bay Rest Resort in Arkdale, Wisconsin. He was a longtime owner and breeder of German Short-haired Pointers and also enjoyed breeding Angelfish.

He was the adoring husband of 58 years to Kathleen (nee Hunyady); loving father of Kimberly (Michael) Gdula, Kelly (Thomas) Dorsey, Kerry (Mark) Altintop, Rich (Michele) Mayer and the late Keith; fond grandfather of Kathleen (Duran), Shannon, Melissa (Jay), Michael (Bree), Monica (Joe), Maggie, Natalie, Nicholas and the late Richie; proud great grandfather of Jayden, Mason, Christian, Robbie, Jackson, Faye, Amelia and Ella; dear brother of the late Jack, Geri, Ron (Marilyn) and Denny; fond uncle, cousin and dear friend to many.
