Guy C. Landgraf Sr., 79, a resident of Schaumburg for 51 years and formerly of Melrose Park, Illinois, was born on February 23, 1941 in Chicago to Charles and Katherine (nee Mueller) and passed away peacefully on May 10, 2020 at his home in Schaumburg surrounded by his loving family.

As a proud U.S. Army Veteran, Guy served in the 1st Calvary during the Vietnam War. His home, yard and even car, were adorned with patriotic pictures and ornaments.

Guy lived for his family and wanted nothing but the best for them. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. Guy cherished every moment he was able to spend with them, especially parties and gatherings, where he could proudly boast about all their accomplishments.

Anyone who knew Guy immediately recognized a true genuineness and love of life. He sincerely cared for people and had an innate ability to listen to and put people at ease. Guy always lived life in the moment which was evident in his joy of music, festivals and family camping trips.

Guy was the dedicated husband of 56 years to Eileen (nee Banakis); loving father of Jennifer (Michael) Lupo, Laura (Eric) Jelen, Guy Jr. (Melanie) and David (Deirdre); adoring grandfather of Michael and Julia Lupo, Samantha, Sydney and Sarina Jelen, Logan and Oliver Landgraf, and Maeve Landgraf; brother of Gayle Davidson; fond cousin and friend to many. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched.

William I. Bielski, 91, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2020 in Elk Grove Village, IL. Preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Helen (nee Kula), who passed away in 2002. Survived by his sons: Thomas, Raymond (Denise), and Brian (Kelly); grandchildren: Leslie (Sean) and Mason; great grandchildren: Britanie, Karleigh, Kyle and Brandon. He was also preceded in death by his parents: William J. and Harriett Bielski, and his brother, Leonard (Elsie).

Bill, a graduate of East Chicago Washington, was an accomplished pianist who had his union card at the age of 13 in 1941, as there was a shortage of professional pianists during World War II. He played and toured professionally for 20 years with highlights being an emergency medical replacement with Lawrence Welk during a Chicago tour. He also played with Johnny Kay and recorded on Benny Strong’s album: That Certain Party. Bill served in the Special Services/Entertainment division of the U.S. Army from 1946-1948, playing on the Army’s baseball and basketball teams touring the US, Pacific and the Far East. He also entertained the generals in the officer’s club on the piano. After his service, he attended Butler University and Jordan College of Music.

Bill then worked 30 years as general foreman at Inland Steel and 20 years as an elected official in Lake County. Offices held included: Lake County Recorder, Lake County Council (President) and North Township Advisory Board. After retirement, Bill and Helen enjoyed living in Florida (Spring Hill, Inverness, Ocala, Gainesville) where Bill golfed, bowled and fished in his free time.

Bill belonged to the American Legion Post 369, the VFW, White Eagle Citizens Club and the Knights of Columbus. Burial will be with his wife Helen at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Services will be private. In lieu of/memorial contributions can be made to Scleroderma Research Foundation, 220 Montgomery Street, Suite 484, San Francisco, CA 94104 in memory of his late wife, Helen T. Bielski.

Patricia “Patsy” A. Manshreck, 77, (nee Fitzgerald) a resident of Schaumburg for 43 years and formerly of the Austin neighborhood of Chicago was born on February 11, 1943 in Chicago to John and Bernice (nee Bannon) passed away peacefully on May 1, 2020 in Elk Grove with her loving daughter and son by her side.

Patsy enjoyed making friends at the Schaumburg Barn Senior Center, gardening, talking on the phone for hours with her sister, playing the slots at the Grand Victoria Casino and most of all being with her grandchildren.

She was the adoring wife of 53 years to Gerald; loving mother of Jerry (Jamie), Danny, and Elizabeth (Ben) Kramer; fond grandmother of Brian, Emmett, Olivia, Norah, Vivian, and Emma; last surviving sister of John (Mary Jane) Fitzgerald, Jane (Sam) Miller, and Nancy (Mike) Logan; beloved aunt and dear friend to many. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.

John P. Nelson, 87, a resident of Brookdale-Glen Ellyn for 3 years and formerly of Schaumburg was born on March 3, 1933 in Chicago and passed away suddenly on April 23, 2020 at his home in Glen Ellyn.

John was a proud Veteran who served in the US Air Force and worked in the telecommunications industry most of his life. He adored his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved to travel the world and was an avid camper. He particularly enjoyed activities such as riding roller coasters and attending Cubs games with those he loved.

The adoring husband of 50 years to the late Marilyn (nee Stienke); loving father of Kim (John) Jokela, Kathi, John, Jr. (Tammy) and Jeff (Susi); fond grandfather of 7; proud great grandfather of 2; dear brother and friend to many. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Shirley was an avid cook and particularly loved to bake. She was a dog lover and missed her black Lab “Blackie”. Enzenbacher, 96, a resident of Schaumburg for 40 years and formerly of Des Plaines for 20 years, was born on March 15, 1924 in Chicago to Gustave and Tekhla (nee Hargrove) and passed away peacefully on March 24, 2020 in Elk Grove Village. Bill was a proud US Navy Veteran who served in WWII as a Supply Clerk stationed in Australia and Hawaii. He was a member of the Schaumburg YMCA.

Bill was the adoring husband of the late Betty Jane; loving father of the late William, Jr. (Linda), Ronald (Kathi), Karl and Karen Dobson; fond grandfather of 14; proud great grandfather of 18; youngest surviving brother of 5; dear uncle and friend to many. Donald “Don” C. Carroll, 86, a resident of Schaumburg since 1970 and formerly of Forest Park and Chicago, was born on January 16, 1934 in Chicago to Ralph and Edith (nee Faye) and passed away peacefully on March 18, 2020 at his home in Schaumburg with his loving family by his side after a battle with mesothelioma.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years Lorraine (nee Eastman); adoring daughter Lisa and beloved sons Dan (Ronnie) and Chris (Jennifer); cherished grandchildren Brian, Brittney, Alex, Sierra and Erin; caring brother Bill (Fran); dear sister in law Ruth; and several fond nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his brothers Ralph and Norm.

Don was a retired industrial and commercial real estate appraiser. He proudly served in the US Army in Korea. He was an avid reader, loved history, and enjoyed traveling, especially to Ireland and Paris. Above all else he was always there for his children and grandchildren.
